Username and Password Troubleshooting Tips
West Lafayette Academic Campus
Username- This Vista campus is linked with the Purdue Career Account system. Your Username is your Purdue career account login.
- Usernames and passwords are case sensitive -- make sure that your caps lock button is not pressed. Purdue career account logins are always lowercase.
- If you have questions about your Purdue career account, please contact the ITaP Customer Service Center.
- Your password is your Purdue career account password.
- All passwords are case sensitive.
- If you need to reset your Career account password, you can do this in the following ways:
- If you know your password, you can change your password online.
- If you have forgotten your password, visit the ITaP Customer Service Center in Stewart Center G65 with your Purdue photo ID.
- For additional help with your password please contact the ITaP Customer Service Center.
Career account passwords must be changed every 120 days (30 days for Purdue staff with access to restricted information). If you can no longer log in to Blackboard, it might be because your password has expired. Once your password is expired, you will need to reset your password. Blackboard follows the University's password policies.
West Lafayette Open Campus

- If you need to reset your password in the West Lafayette Open Campus, please contact the ITaP Customer Service Center.
- Go to Vista, at http://blackboard.purdue.edu and select West Lafayette Open Campus.
- Click on the Create Account link. The Add User screen will appear.
- Complete the boxes for User Name, First Name, Last Name, Password, and Retype Password. For user name, try to use a variation of your first initial and last name.
- Click Save. You will now be able to use the Log In button to access West Lafayette Open Campus.
The West Lafayette Open Campus is not tied to the Purdue career account system so you will need to create a user name and password. Password
